| We have nice hot summers to enjoy our beaches with temperatures getting as
high as 40°C if not hotter. Our winters are wet, bringing out the rich green trees
& shrubs that cover the hills, making so many of our National
Parks look inviting to play in - even in the rain. We do not usually have snow, like some
other states of Australia. |
| Adelaide is known as the City of Churches,
maybe we have lots of them or something... I thought we had more Parklands than
churches I prefer to know Adelaide for it's National Parks up in the hills, and
beautiful Parklands that surround the city center. Our
city center is surrounded by lushious parklands. When Adelaide was hosting the
Formula 1 Grand Prix it was raced through the city streets and parklands. which made
for a unique race week.

| Adelaide is populated with about 1 million souls - |
| Adelaide
is re-known for it's wine districts - to the North of Adelaide
is the Barossa Valley Winneries, where you can find the
famous Penfolds winery and down South is the McLaren Vale Wineries, so I guess all these people come here and just stay. |

William St, in the City |

There
is also Drags, Speedway and the famous Mallala
Racing Track, which runs regular Club Car Race meetings
and most recently hosted the 1998 Australian Super Truck
Championship, this was a first for Mallala &
South Australia, and the big crowd in attendance were not to be dissappointed with
the days action packed racing.
Adelaide also hosts the Fringe Festival once a year, this is
a cultural, entertainment, and food festival... I think! |
| South of Adelaide in the months of August through to
November - Whale's are present along our coastal shores and Victor Harbour is known as the top Whale watching spot in South Australia. Victor Harbour is about 90 minutes drive along the
freeway. If you miss the Whales, then drive down south about 2 hours, to Granite Island and see the Penguin Colony there, you won't be disappointed. |

| The
Glenelg Tram |
The
Buffalo |
|
| From
the City center, you can travel to Glenelg on the age old
Tram, While you are at Glenelg you can visit The Buffalo, it is a resturant and a Museum, a very popular
Tourist attraction. Then you can go to the other side of town by train and
visit the Maritime Museum at Port Adelaide, and then
visit the Barrossa Valley and Victor Harbour on a Steam Train, or take a relaxing train ride
through the Adelaide Hills where there are
many tunnels to travel through, but then you can always just sit down & relax on the
banks of the River Torrens. |

so energetic. Popeye will curise you along the River
Torrens from the Weir to the take Adelaide Zoo or you
can just stroll along the banks of the River Torrens until
you get there yourself. |
| For
the tourist and travellers - there is a lot to offer those who visit Adelaide -
from holding the Koalas at Cleveland
National Park to the City Dolphins in the Port River, from the sweeping hills that surround Adelaide to
the long, wide crystal clear blue beaches that follow our coasts. |
